Italy Remains Azerbaijan’s Top Trading Partner in 2025

Italy remained Azerbaijan’s leading trading partner in January–September 2025, with a total trade turnover of $8.9 billion, accounting for 25.2% of Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade, State Customs Committee reported.

Trade with Italy increased by 19.1% compared to the same period of 2024.

Turkey ranked second with $4.33 billion in trade (12.3% share), marking a 6.3% decline year-on-year. Russia followed in third place with $3.66 billion (10.3% share), up 4.6% from last year.

The rest of Azerbaijan’s top ten trading partners were:

China – $3.40 billion (+28.1%)

Germany – $1.10 billion (+0.2%)

United States – $1.01 billion (+3.8%)

United Kingdom – $955 million (up 1.6×)

Czech Republic – $758 million (−9.3%)

Greece – $659 million (+38.6%)

Georgia – $624 million (+9.2%)

In total, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover reached $35.38 billion for the first nine months of 2025 – a 2.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

In 2024, Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade volume stood at $47.6 billion, down 7% from 2023.
