Islam Rahimov Wins Gold at European U-23 Championships

Azerbaijani judoka Islam Rahimov has claimed the gold medal at the European U-23 Judo Championships held in Chisinau, Moldova.

According to Report, Rahimov, competing in the 66 kg weight category, defeated Dutch athlete Jochem van Harten in the final bout to secure the championship title.

Other Azerbaijani judokas, Murad Muradli and Huseyn Allahyarov (both in the 60 kg category), were unable to reach the podium.

Rahimov’s victory continues Azerbaijan’s strong tradition in judo and highlights the country’s rising generation of athletes performing at the continental level.
