Tehran, August 10 – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that the dispute over the Zangezur Corridor has been fully settled.
Speaking to the “Azad Iran” Telegram channel, Araghchi said Iran has held multiple discussions with both Armenia and Azerbaijan on the issue, and further talks are planned — including a phone call with Armenia’s foreign minister tomorrow and a visit by Armenia’s deputy foreign minister to Tehran on Tuesday.
“We welcome any peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We demand full sovereignty for all countries over their own territories and support the territorial integrity of all states in the region. We do not accept any changes to international borders,” Araghchi stated.
He added that the joint statement between Azerbaijan and Armenia respects these principles: “The corridor debate has been completely dropped. What is now under discussion is a transit route fully under Armenia’s sovereignty.”
