Inflation Reaches 5.5% as Food Prices Lead Monthly Increases

Azerbaijan’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 5.5% in November 2025 compared with the same month in 2024, according to official statistics.

Prices for food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased 7.1%, non-food goods 2.5%, and paid services 5.7%.

Compared with the previous month, the CPI increased 0.3% in November. For January–November, inflation stood at 5.7% year-on-year.

Food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco were up 0.4% month-on-month in November, and 6.9% compared with the first 11 months of 2024.

The largest monthly increases among food items were recorded for buckwheat, canned beef, fish and seafood, milk, eggs, pears, grapes, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplants, onions, potatoes, black and green tea, as well as alcoholic beverages.

Prices decreased for pasta, lemons, oranges, tangerines, apples, quince, pomegranates, persimmons, kiwis, cabbage, greens, pumpkin, beans, beets and carrots. Prices for most other food items remained stable.

Prices of non-food goods rose 0.2% in November and 2.6% over the January-November period. The highest increases were seen in personal hygiene goods and jewelry, while household appliances became cheaper. Most other non-food categories showed little change.

Paid services to the population increased 0.3% month-on-month in November, and 6.6% year-on-year for January–November. The sharpest increases were observed in medical and hairdressing services, as well as centralized heating. International air passenger services became cheaper, while most other service prices showed no significant change.
