The head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, Shahin Shikhlinski, who was previously wanted by law enforcement, has been detained by security forces as he exited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow, according to local outlet E1.ru.
Authorities have since transported him from Moscow to Yekaterinburg.

Shikhlinski had earlier been briefly detained near the “Baku Plaza” shopping center in Yekaterinburg, but was released after questioning. Later, Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs placed him on a wanted list.
The reasons for his detainment and the charges against him have not yet been publicly disclosed.
