Georgia Welcomes Washington Peace Deal as Foundation for South Caucasus Stability

The peace agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia is a crucial cornerstone for building lasting peace and provides a strong foundation for long-term stability and development across the South Caucasus.

According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili made the remarks during the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council meeting.

“Georgia remains firmly committed to supporting peace and regional cooperation, and stands ready to work with all partners to uphold international law, protect sovereignty, and ensure long-term peace in the South Caucasus and across the OSCE region,” she said.

The Georgian minister stressed that the Washington agreements of August 8, reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia, establish a solid basis for sustainable peace and open new opportunities for regional development.

“Let me take this opportunity to welcome the historic agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia on peace and the establishment of interstate relations, achieved in Washington with the mediation of the President of the United States,” Bochorishvili added.
