Georgia supports the ongoing normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and welcomes steps to remove transit restrictions across the region, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said during a ceremony marking the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey in Tbilisi.
According to Report’s Georgian bureau, Papuashvili reaffirmed his country’s strong commitment to peace and cooperation in the South Caucasus, emphasizing that Tbilisi also supports the process of normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“A stable and peaceful South Caucasus will open new opportunities for connectivity, economic growth, and trade,” Papuashvili said, underscoring the importance of friendly and strategic relations between Georgia and Turkey.
The speaker noted that closer cooperation among regional partners will play a key role in ensuring long-term stability and prosperity across the South Caucasus.
