Georgia will provide free, one-time transit of oil from Azerbaijan to Armenia, the country’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced.
According to the ministry, the Georgian government received a formal request from its partner states to facilitate a single rail shipment of fuel from Azerbaijan to Armenia via Georgian territory.
By decision of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Railways has been instructed to carry out the transportation immediately and at no cost. Relevant officials have been formally notified of the order.
The ministry stressed that Georgia remains a strategic and reliable partner for both Baku and Yerevan and continues to support policies aimed at regional peace, stability, and cooperation.
