The Caspian Technical Conference SPE opened today in Baku, bringing together leading engineers, regulators, and innovators from across the region.
This year’s event is held with the support of the host organization, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), under the theme: “Learning from the Past, Renewing the Present, Inspiring the Future.”
The conference remains one of the most significant industry gatherings in the Caspian basin, traditionally attracting high-level energy experts and technology specialists. The agenda includes an official opening ceremony, the presentation of regional SPE awards, two high-level plenary sessions, and more than twenty technical panels featuring practical case studies and analytical presentations.
A parallel technology exhibition will showcase new tools, engineering solutions, and innovations shaping the future of the energy sector. Organizers have also placed strong emphasis on youth development: a Student Summit will offer young professionals mentorship opportunities, networking, and exposure to the rapidly evolving dynamics of modern energy.
Throughout the conference, participants will engage in discussions on digitalization, artificial intelligence, enhanced recovery at mature fields, operational efficiency, safety standards, and supply-chain resilience—topics that increasingly define the regional energy landscape.
The event will run through 27 November.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a global organization representing more than 132,000 professionals in 146 countries.
