Fuel prices in Azerbaijan have increased following a decision by the Tariff (Price) Council, adding new pressure to household and transportation costs.
The price of AI-92 gasoline has risen by 5 gapiks, from 1.10 manats to 1.15 manats per liter, while diesel fuel has increased by 10 gapiks, from 1.00 manat to 1.10 manats per liter, the council said.
What this means in practice
For private motorists, the hike translates into higher daily expenses. Filling a standard 40–50 liter fuel tank will now cost 2–2.5 manats more for gasoline-powered vehicles, with even higher additional costs for diesel drivers.
Beyond individual car owners, fuel price increases typically have a broader economic impact, particularly on:
taxi fares,
freight and logistics,
food delivery and transportation costs.
These sectors often pass higher fuel expenses on to consumers, meaning the effects of the price rise may extend beyond fuel stations in the coming weeks.
The authorities have not yet indicated whether any compensatory measures or support mechanisms are planned to offset the impact of higher fuel prices on households.
