COPENHAGEN, October 2, 2025
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met in Copenhagen on the sidelines of the 7th European Political Community summit, reaffirming their readiness to strengthen peace efforts.
According to Report, both leaders stressed the importance of the agreements reached at the Washington Peace Summit earlier this year, initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump, and underlined their commitment to further implementation of the Washington Declaration.
The talks touched on the benefits of regional transport connectivity, Azerbaijan’s ongoing infrastructure development, and the TRIPP project, which the two sides discussed as part of regional integration.
Aliyev and Pashinyan also welcomed the unanimous decision to close the OSCE Minsk Process and its related structures, calling it a step toward leaving behind outdated formats.
Both leaders emphasized the need to pursue additional confidence-building measures and agreed to maintain mutual contacts in the coming period.
