Most Azerbaijanis view the restoration of state sovereignty as the start of “new opportunities,” according to a nationwide survey by the Center for Social Research conducted September 12–16 among 1,200 adults (18+).
Key findings:
96% say Azerbaijan now has broader opportunities in international affairs, whereas 77.4% believe foreign policy had previously been constrained by the focus on occupation issues.
91.2% agree that opening the Zangezur route is becoming realistic.
82.5% say resettlement in Karabakh and East Zangezur supports a more proportional population distribution.
82.7% see an expansion of rights and freedoms for citizens.
Overall, respondents associate the outcome of the 44-day war and the restoration of sovereignty not only with territorial liberation but also with stronger international standing, a consolidated “victor’s” national identity, and wider strategic options for the country.
