The Czech Republic will purchase Niva off-road vehicles produced at the AzerMash plant in Azerbaijan under a partnership program with AvtoVAZ, the Czech portal iDnes reported.
According to the outlet, the Niva model has not only gained popularity for its durability and technical features but also holds a place in Czech pop culture – the SUV appeared in the iconic Czechoslovak science-fiction series “Návštěvníci” (The Visitors, 1983).
The estimated retail price of the Azerbaijani-assembled Niva in the Czech market is 498,000 korunas, equivalent to about $21,200 (≈40,450 manats).
