Authorities: Residents Were Evacuated in Advance

Goranboy district executive chief Magerram Guliyev said all residents of the dangerous building had been evacuated a day earlier.

Speaking to Qafqazinfo, Guliyev described a rapidly deteriorating situation:

“The situation became critical early this morning. Stairwells began to collapse, and we heard characteristic internal cracking sounds. We immediately established a 50-meter buffer zone and implemented all necessary safety measures. No one was injured during the collapse.”

He added that a neighboring building is also in hazardous condition. An inspection carried out together with Emergency Ministry specialists confirmed structural risks.

“Residents of that building will also be relocated in the coming days. Overall, a new residential complex for 76 families is planned.”
