Orders for Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Europe through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) have risen compared to last week, according to data released by the TAP electronic platform.

On November 10, TAP received an order for 367.02 million kWh of gas from the Kipoi exit point in Greece – a 4.91% increase compared to the previous Monday. From November 11 to 16, the daily delivery volume through Kipoi is expected to total 348.02 million kWh, slightly below the early-November average.

At the Komotini exit point in Greece, daily orders for the same period remain unchanged at 28.67 million kWh, while deliveries from the Nea Mesimvria point will amount to 30.35 million kWh, also consistent with last week’s figures.

The largest volume continues to go to Italy: on November 10, orders at the Melendugno exit point reached 288.33 million kWh, 6.48% higher than a week earlier. Between November 11 and 16, daily deliveries are expected to average 287.01 million kWh, a minor dip compared to the previous week.

TAP is a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), designed to strengthen Europe’s energy security by diversifying supply routes. The 878-kilometer pipeline runs 550 km across northern Greece, 215 km through Albania, 105 km under the Adriatic Sea, and 8 km across Italy.

Azerbaijan began exporting gas through TAP to Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria on December 31, 2020. Under agreements between Baku and the European Union, deliveries are projected to reach at least 16 billion cubic meters annually by 2027.

In 2024, TAP transported 11.84 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas, including 9.84 bcm to Italy, 1.1 bcm to Greece, and 0.82 bcm to Bulgaria.
