EU Signals Readiness to Join Strategic TRIPP Corridor Talks

The European Union has entered discussions with the United States, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye about taking part in the emerging “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), a project expected to reshape connectivity across the South Caucasus.

According to Report, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said Brussels is closely examining the proposal and the broader regional impact of the initiative.

“This is a 42-kilometer segment, but for us it is important that everything we undertake addresses not only that stretch, but also the full east-west network – and that these elements move forward simultaneously,” Kos noted.

She added that the Armenian government is expected to outline its priorities for ensuring comprehensive regional connectivity.

“We have our own ideas as well. We are discussing them with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. It makes little sense to approach this in fragments,” Kos said. “In this context, cooperation or participation by the United States matters far more than simply constructing a 42-kilometer railway line.”
