“We also have a success story for Armenia and Azerbaijan. The historic step taken in Washington on August 8 has brought the region closer to stability and long-term peace,” Kallas wrote. “The European Union supports the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stands ready to assist the region’s path toward sustainable peace, prosperity, and development.”

Kallas emphasized that the ongoing peace process promises unprecedented economic opportunities, including the opening of borders, cross-border connectivity, and deeper people-to-people trust.

The Euronest Assembly, which brings together members of the European Parliament and Eastern Partnership countries, discussed the political, economic, and social dimensions of post-conflict cooperation in the South Caucasus – with the EU signaling its readiness to play a supportive and mediating role in the region’s integration and recovery.
