The European Union stands ready to support both Armenia and Azerbaijan as they move toward a comprehensive peace agreement and deeper regional cooperation, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Grono said following a two-day visit to Yerevan.
In a post on X, Grono said she held “intense and substantive high-level consultations” in the Armenian capital on 18–19 November, meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and other senior officials.
.
“Grateful for in-depth exchanges on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, Armenia-Türkiye normalisation, regional cooperation, connectivity and humanitarian issues,” she wrote.
Grono added that she also engaged with civil society representatives during her visit, noting that such dialogues help broaden understanding and support ongoing diplomatic efforts.
“The EU stands together with its Armenian and Azerbaijani partners on their way to full-fledged peace and regional successes,” she underscored.
Her remarks come as Baku and Yerevan continue diplomatic contacts following the August 8 Washington summit, where the sides agreed on a draft peace framework and new avenues for regional connectivity.
