The recent decisions made within the framework of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia will make a significant contribution to establishing lasting peace in the region, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mariyana Kuyundžić said in an interview with Report.
The diplomat, who presented her credentials to President Ilham Aliyev last week, described the meeting as positive and constructive.
“We discussed the prospects of cooperation programs between the European Union and Azerbaijan, as well as energy connectivity, transport, rail infrastructure, and digital transformation,” she said. “The talks were positive.”

Kuyundžić noted that special attention was given to the ongoing normalization efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as to the demining of liberated territories.
“We spoke about the latest steps taken by both countries, and I congratulated President Ilham Aliyev. I am confident that these processes will serve the cause of peace and stability in the region,” the EU ambassador emphasized.
