Baku, July 23, 2025 — A growing sanitary crisis is unfolding in the heart of Baku, as a residential courtyard behind School No. 308 has reportedly turned into an open-air dump, alarming local residents and sparking outrage on social media.
According to eyewitness videos circulating online, the yard has become a makeshift landfill, littered with household waste—most notably used baby diapers. Locals blame the worsening conditions on residents themselves, who allegedly dispose of their garbage directly onto the communal space instead of using designated waste facilities.
The situation has reached critical levels due to the summer heat, which accelerates decomposition and amplifies the foul odor emanating from the area. The overpowering stench, particularly from soiled diapers, has raised concerns about potential health hazards, especially for nearby schoolchildren and elderly residents.
So far, no official response has been issued by municipal authorities. Residents are urging urgent sanitation measures and stricter enforcement against illegal dumping to prevent further environmental degradation in the city center.
