Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated during the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) that the event provides a valuable opportunity to condemn the recent attacks against Iran.
According to Pezeshkian, the attacks resulted in civilian casualties and caused significant material damage to the country.
“Our armed forces, in line with Article 57 of the United Nations Charter, acted within the bounds of international law to protect the Iranian people, the country’s national sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while successfully preventing the broader spread of war across the region,” he emphasized.
The Iranian president expressed gratitude to regional leaders and member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for their support during the recent crisis.
However, he also criticized the lack of a firm response from many international organizations and global blocs, which, he noted, failed to take a decisive stance in condemning the attacks on the Islamic Republic.
