Early booking campaigns for summer travel have officially started in Azerbaijan, but prices are noticeably higher compared to last year, reducing consumer interest.
.
According to tour operators, the cost of summer tour packages has increased by more than 10 percent year-on-year.
The rise is linked to higher hotel rates, increased service costs, inflation, and fluctuations in foreign currencies.
Industry experts note that tour packages priced at around 3,000 manats last summer are now selling for 3,300–3,400 manats. As a result, many families are reconsidering their holiday plans, postponing travel or looking for cheaper alternatives.
Despite the early booking period, prices for mid- and high-range hotels are already elevated.
For example, a one-week stay in a five-star hotel that currently costs around $900 during early booking may rise to $1,300–1,500 during the peak season.
Demand this year remains weaker than in previous seasons. Travel companies report that tourists are increasingly opting for shorter trips or more budget-friendly destinations. Passive leisure options, particularly beach holidays, remain the most popular choice.
Turkey continues to be the top destination due to its relatively affordable prices and service quality. Travel packages generally include airfare, accommodation, transfers, and travel insurance.
Experts add that early booking still offers advantages such as installment payment options, even though overall travel costs remain high.
