Azerbaijan will change the procedure for issuing the international motor insurance certificate known as the “Green Card” for foreign-registered vehicles starting in October.
According to Report, citing the Ministry of Transport of Belarus and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Minsk, foreign drivers who do not already hold a Green Card will no longer be able to purchase the insurance at border checkpoints.

Instead, the policy must be obtained in advance by signing a contract with insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan via the official online platform www.tpl.az.
The move is aimed at tightening procedures for foreign vehicles entering the country and shifting Green Card issuance to a digital system.
