In a September 15 YouTube talk titled “Where Is the Special Military Operation Leading Russia?” commentator Andrey Devyatov argued that Russia’s campaign in Ukraine is one front of a wider “hybrid” world war dominated by economic, financial and information battles. He claimed the conflict will conclude in 2025, aligning it with what he calls a 726-year “Horde (Orda) wave” driving a historic pivot from West to East.
Devyatov mixed historical vignettes with metaphysical “cycles,” casting today’s geopolitics as a swing toward an “Eurasian” order. He said Russia’s greatness “without Ukraine” echoes Muscovy’s lineage from the Golden Horde, while ties with Europe would keep shrinking as Moscow deepens integration with China and the SCO. He predicted a short “Great Eurasia” phase lasting roughly until 2032.
He dismissed official rationales like “de-Nazification” as secondary to a larger civilizational realignment and portrayed Ukraine’s separation from Russia as irreversible. Devyatov also promoted his books and an upcoming Moscow lecture on “wave (resonance) technologies” he claims can shape social behavior.
Editor’s note: This is a summary of an opinion lecture; many of Devyatov’s historical and “cycle” assertions are contested by scholars and presented here as his views, not established fact.
