Azerbaijani businessman, musician, and founder of the Sea Breeze Resort, Emin Agalarov, has announced that world-renowned American actor Robert De Niro is planning to visit Baku.
“I’m friends with Robert De Niro – he will definitely come to Baku, maybe even next year,” Agalarov said in a post on Instagram, revealing details about their joint project – the Nobu Hotel, which will be developed on the grounds of Sea Breeze.
This will not be the first collaboration between the two celebrities. On November 9, 2015, De Niro visited Moscow for the official opening of the Nobu restaurant in Crocus City Mall, owned by the Crocus Group – a company founded by Emin’s father, Aras Agalarov.

The legendary Hollywood actor has been a co-owner of the Nobu restaurant chain for more than two decades. Nobu now operates in 28 major cities worldwide, with two locations in Moscow – the second of which began operating in March 2015 before its official grand opening later that year.
Emin Agalarov and Robert De Niro have since maintained both a business partnership and a friendship, and the planned Nobu Hotel Baku is expected to become one of the flagship luxury destinations on the Caspian coast within the expanding Sea Breeze complex.
