Current Organ Transplantation Statistics in Azerbaijan

Currently, 910 people are on the organ transplant waiting list in Azerbaijan (kidneys, liver, bone marrow, and cornea).

This was reported in response to a request from Report by the Organ Donation and Coordination Center.

According to the information, of these, 298 are waiting for a kidney transplant, 123 for a liver transplant, 464 for a bone marrow transplant, and 25 for a cornea transplant.

“Of those waiting for a kidney transplant, 18 are children, and 280 are adults. Specifically, 5 children and 118 adults are currently on the liver transplant list, 371 children and 93 adults are waiting for bone marrow transplants, and 2 children and 23 adults are awaiting cornea transplants,” the statement noted.
