Collision at Sheremetyevo: Rossiya Aircraft Hits Hainan Airbus, No Casualties

A Rossiya Airlines jet preparing for departure from Moscow to St. Petersburg collided with another aircraft at Sheremetyevo Airport on Wednesday, delaying the flight but causing no injuries.

According to Russian media, the incident occurred as Rossiya flight FV6097 was taxiing for departure. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 reportedly clipped an Airbus belonging to Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines on the taxiway.

The Rossiya jet sustained visible damage, prompting authorities to transfer all passengers to a reserve aircraft. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but no casualties or injuries were reported.

The St. Petersburg-bound flight was delayed while airport staff inspected the aircraft and cleared the area.

Both TASS and regional outlets including Fontanka and 78.ru confirmed the collision, citing aviation sources. Officials have yet to release details on the extent of the damage or the circumstances that led to the ground incident.

Sheremetyevo, one of Russia’s busiest airports, has maintained normal operations following the incident, though an internal investigation is expected.
