ChatGPT’s dominance in Azerbaijan’s AI chatbot market continues to slip, marking its fourth consecutive month of decline, according to new figures from analytics firm Statcounter.
In August, ChatGPT accounted for 94.58% of usage across computers, mobile devices, and tablets — down 1.52 percentage points from July.
Rising competitors
Microsoft Copilot rose to 2.83% (+1.13 pp).
Perplexity climbed to 1.23% (+0.55 pp).
Google Gemini edged down to 1.05% (-0.02 pp).
Claude slipped to 0.25% (-0.2 pp).
Breakdown by platform
On computers:
ChatGPT: 93.99% (-1.57 pp; cumulative decline of 3% since April).
Copilot: 3.22% (+1.26 pp).
Perplexity: 1.32% (+0.54 pp).
Gemini: 1.1% (-0.14 pp).
Claude: 0.29% (-0.17 pp).
On mobile:
ChatGPT: 97.69% (-1.88 pp).
Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini: 0.77% each.
Market picture
Despite losing ground, ChatGPT remains overwhelmingly dominant in Azerbaijan. Yet, analysts note that even small shifts reflect a market where Microsoft and newer entrants like Perplexity are beginning to test OpenAI’s near-monopoly.
