The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on Azerbaijani national Chingiz Aliyev as part of its expanded restrictive measures targeting Russia and related business networks.
According to the updated sanctions list released by the UK authorities, the measures include an asset freeze and other financial restrictions against Aliyev.
London says Chingiz Aliyev previously headed Litasco Middle East DMCC and Litasco SA — trading subsidiaries linked to Russia’s oil major LUKOIL, registered in Dubai and Switzerland respectively. The UK noted that Litasco Middle East has been under British sanctions since July.
The sanctions were introduced as part of a broader package affecting individuals from several countries, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan.
The UK’s sanctions regime предусматривает замораживание активов, ограничения на финансовые операции и запрет на предоставление экономических ресурсов лицам, включённым в санкционные списки.
The British government has not disclosed additional details regarding the specific activities that led to the decision.
