Big Bags May Cost You Extra on the Baku Metro

Must read

Taking a large suitcase or box on the Baku Metro could cost you the price of another ticket.

According to Lent.az, metro rules classify oversized hand luggage as paid baggage if the total of its dimensions – length, width, and height – measures between 121 and 200 centimeters. The same rule applies to long items measuring 151 to 220 centimeters in length.

The fee equals a standard passenger fare, meaning travelers must tap their card again to pay for the extra item.

Metro officials also clarified that passengers with free-travel privileges – such as students or veterans – are not exempt from baggage charges.

So if your suitcase or box exceeds the limits, the system treats it like an extra passenger.
