BAKU, July 16 — The visa regime between Azerbaijan and China has officially been lifted as of July 16, under a bilateral agreement signed during President Ilham Aliyev’s recent state visit to Beijing.
The “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on Mutual Exemption from Visa Requirements for Holders of Ordinary Passports” allows citizens of both countries to travel visa-free for short-term visits.
Under the terms of the agreement, Azerbaijani and Chinese nationals holding valid ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, and transit through the other country for stays of up to 30 days per visit, and no more than 90 days total within any 180-day period.
This move is expected to boost tourism, business ties, and cultural exchange between the two countries, as Baku continues to deepen its strategic partnership with Beijing.
