Baku is set to update the fare on bus route No. 12, which links Javadshir Street in Khatai district with Mammadali Sharifli Street in Nizami district, as the city rolls out a new fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles.
According to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the route will be served by 18 newly purchased Yutong buses starting December 7.
The buses are equipped with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) technology, aimed at reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency.
AYNA confirmed that the route will operate on a fully cashless payment system, and the fare has been set at 0.6 AZN.
Officials say the tariff reflects the upgrade to modern, eco-friendly buses and the overall improvement in passenger service quality.
