Leila Efendiyeva, director of the Baku Jazz Festival, who earlier shared reports claiming Azerbaijani singer Albina Pyaksheva (born in 1993) was killed at the US-Mexico border, has now confirmed that the singer is alive.
Efendiyeva posted the update on her Facebook account, writing, “Dear friends, I have received new information. Albina is alive.”
An anonymous friend of Pyaksheva also told APA that the reports of the singer’s death are false. “The news about the murder of jazz artist Albina Pyaksheva at the US-Mexico border is not true,” the friend said.
Previously, Efendiyeva had stated, “I received information yesterday evening that jazz singer Albina Pyaksheva was killed at the US-Mexico border. I don’t know who did it. All I know is that she was killed at the border.”
