Baku Hosts First Azerbaijan–U.S. Think Tank Forum

The first-ever Azerbaijan–U.S. Think Tank Forum was held in Baku, organized by the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), marking a new stage in strategic dialogue between the two countries.

According to Report, the forum, titled “Shared Vision: Azerbaijan–U.S. Dialogue for Strategic Partnership,” brought together leading Azerbaijani policy institutes and prominent American think tanks, including the Atlantic Council, New Lines Institute, Hudson Institute, Central Asia–Caucasus Institute, and representatives of The National Interest magazine.

Three Thematic Sessions

Across three sessions, participants exchanged views on key issues shaping the future of bilateral cooperation:

  • “Assessing the Washington Summit: Impact on U.S.–Azerbaijan Relations”

  • “Armenia–Azerbaijan Peace Process After the Washington Summit”

  • “Energy Security and Connectivity”

Discussions focused on the outcomes of the Washington Summit, principles for advancing relations in the post-summit phase, opportunities and risks in the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process, and the integration of major regional infrastructure projects such as the Southern Gas Corridor and the Middle Corridor.

Opening Earlier in the Day

Earlier in the morning, the forum officially opened with the participation of local and U.S. think tanks. The agenda for the sessions mirrored the themes later expanded upon during the full-day discussions.

The event highlighted growing intellectual and strategic cooperation between Baku and Washington at a time of evolving regional dynamics.
