Baku Expresses Concern Over Israeli Strike on Qatar, Urges Diplomacy

“We are deeply concerned about today’s attack on Qatar, which could lead to further escalation of regional tensions. We support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar and call for prioritizing diplomatic efforts to preserve stability.”

Diplomatic observers highlight that Azerbaijan stopped short of issuing a direct condemnation of Israel. Instead, it chose more measured wording — signaling disapproval and solidarity with Qatar’s sovereignty, while avoiding an explicit denunciation.

The development comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf, where Qatar has sought international support in response to the strike. Regional analysts say Baku’s statement reflects its careful balancing act: reaffirming respect for international law and stability, but also maintaining room for maneuver in its relations with Israel.
