BAKU, July 31 — Azerbaijan and the United States have held talks on the development of the Middle Corridor and its growing role in regional freight transit.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, shared details of the meeting on Facebook following his discussions with Amy Karlin, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Baku.
“We discussed the expansion of transport infrastructure, the prospects of cargo transportation via the Middle Corridor, and cooperation in telecommunications, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, human capital development, and future collaboration with American companies,” the minister wrote.
The Middle Corridor — also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route — is gaining strategic importance as an alternative east-west trade route connecting China to Europe through Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. Both Baku and Washington have expressed strong interest in its expansion amid shifting global supply chains.
