Armenian journalist Roman Bagdasaryan says relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan have entered a new stage in which the likelihood of renewed large-scale conflict has significantly decreased.
Speaking in a year-end assessment, Bagdasaryan noted that while a formal peace treaty has yet to be signed, the political environment has changed fundamentally compared to previous years.
.
According to him, direct contacts between Baku and Yerevan have reduced dependence on external mediators and shifted responsibility for decisions back to the parties themselves.
Bagdasaryan stressed that the absence of active hostilities should not be confused with full peace, but acknowledged that the region is no longer operating under conditions of constant escalation.
He added that internal political dynamics in Armenia, as well as broader geopolitical factors, will continue to shape the pace and outcome of the peace process.
