Azerbaijan’s Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) delivered a commanding performance at the U20 European Wrestling Championship in Caorle, Italy, defeating all of her opponents early to advance to the final.
In the gold medal bout, she faced Sevim Akbaş of Turkey. From the very first seconds, Gurbanova controlled the match, showcasing her dominance and securing a confident 9–1 victory to become European Champion.
This marks Gurbanova’s third gold medal of the year. She previously topped the podium at both the first ranking series tournament and the U23 European Championship, underlining her status as one of the most promising young wrestlers in the sport.
