Azerbaijan’s tourism industry posted impressive results in 2024, with travel agencies and tour operators generating revenues of 166.4 million manats ($97.8 million), according to the State Statistics Committee.
The figure marks a 2.1-fold increase compared to 2023, reflecting the sector’s rapid post-pandemic recovery and rising foreign and domestic travel demand.
The number of licensed travel agencies and tour operators in the country reached 381 last year – a 27% increase from the previous year. Employment in the sector also grew sharply, with the total number of staff rising by 25.6% to 2,132 people.
Officials and industry experts attribute the growth to Azerbaijan’s expanding tourism infrastructure, international marketing campaigns, and the hosting of high-profile events, which have boosted the country’s profile as a regional travel destination.
