Azerbaijan’s Top Muslim Cleric to Visit UN, Congress, and Religious Groups in U.S.

Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), will travel to the United States on October 1, the CMO press service told Report.

According to the program, Pashazade will visit Utah at the invitation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Stirling Foundation, where he is scheduled to meet state officials and take part in several events.

The trip will also include meetings in Washington with representatives of religious organizations as well as members of the U.S. Senate and Congress.

In New York, Pashazade is expected to hold talks with UN officials, leaders of the organization Religions for Peace, representatives of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation, and other figures.
