Exploration Planning Continues at Shafag-Asiman Block

Aslanbayli also noted that bp is advancing preparations for the next stage of exploration at the Shafag-Asiman block, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

“At the next stage, we intend to continue exploration work. These activities are currently in the planning phase,” he said.

He explained that bp is in the process of selecting a drilling rig for the second exploration well, a decision that requires coordination with other bp projects in the region.

“We are now agreeing on which drilling rig will be used and how to align its deployment with other projects. Once work on another project is completed, the selected rig will be mobilized to the Shafag-Asiman block,” Aslanbayli added.
