Azerbaijani fighters delivered standout performances at the international Grand Bellagio & GFC MMA Tournament held in Batumi, Georgia.
According to Oxu.Az, seven-time world and three-time European kickboxing champion Alim Nabiev claimed another decisive victory, knocking out Turkish opponent Oguzhan Atak in the first round.
The win marks Nabiev’s second professional MMA triumph, and he said he plans to fight again before the end of the year – with an eye on eventually joining the UFC.
Other Azerbaijani athletes also shined at the event. Tahir Abdullayev (heavyweight) defeated Iranian fighter Siavash Dadras, while Elvin Kamilli (lightweight) scored a first-round knockout against Georgian Giorgi Kabulashvili.
The Grand Bellagio & GFC tournament, now in its third edition in Batumi, brought together 24 fighters from 10 countries.
