Azerbaijan’s kickboxing legend claims his 9th and 10th world titles
Azerbaijani kickboxing star and multiple world and European champion Eduard Mammadov has captured two gold medals at the 2025 WAKO World Kickboxing Championships, held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) from November 21 to 30.
According to Report.az, Mammadov competed in the Master Class, in the -63 kg category across two disciplines – Light Contact and Kick Light – and secured first place in both.
In Light Contact, he defeated:
Singh Gurmare (United Kingdom)
Cortes Emanuel (Portugal)
Simone Calogero (Italy)
In Kick Light, he prevailed over:
Ola Ahlvarsson (Sweden)
Benjamin Gallant (Canada)
Simone Calogero (Italy)
The double victory further cements Mammadov’s status as one of the most decorated kickboxers in the sport’s history. With these wins, the head of the Sports Training Department of Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry Sports Society and vice president of the Azerbaijani Kickboxing Federation becomes a 10-time WAKO world champion.
