At the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, Azerbaijan’s three-time world champion, European champion, and Olympic medalist Iryna Zaretska (68 kg) added another accolade to her career — a silver medal in karate.
According to Azerisport.com, Zaretska topped her group with victories over opponents from Egypt, Indonesia, and China. She advanced to the semifinals, where she defeated a Japanese competitor. In the final bout, she fell to her Swiss rival, securing second place.
