Azerbaijan recorded a sharp rise in crude oil exports in October, posting one of the strongest month-to-month increases of the year.
According to official statistics, the country exported 20.75 million tons of crude oil over the first ten months of 2025 – an increase of 3.76 million tons, or 22.1%, compared with 16.99 million tons reported in September.
The jump was reflected in export value as well.
In October, crude exports totaled $10.85 billion, up from $8.94 billion in September.
Top Importing Countries
Italy remained Azerbaijan’s largest buyer with 12.08 million tons worth $6.23 billion.
Other major importers included:
Czech Republic: 1.31m tons ($701.37m)
Croatia: 1.19m tons ($634.65m)
Germany: 957,000 tons ($502.02m)
Romania: 870,000 tons ($475.94m)
Portugal: 803,000 tons ($430.73m)
The UK, Greece, Ireland, the Netherlands, Tunisia, and France also remained key destinations.
Further down the list were India, Switzerland, Austria, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Denmark, Bulgaria – and Georgia, which imported 3,840 tons valued at $1.59 million.
