Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers delivered a strong performance at the U-23 World Wrestling Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, capturing both gold and silver medals.
Kenan Heybatov claimed the world title after a commanding 9:4 victory over Iran’s Sina Khalili in the final, securing gold in his weight class.
Meanwhile, Khetag Karsanov (125 kg) earned silver, falling to Iran’s Abolfazl Nejad 0:11 in the championship bout.
The results mark another successful showing for Azerbaijan’s national wrestling team, which continues to build momentum on the international stage.
