Azerbaijani weightlifter Ravin Almammadov has claimed the gold medal at the European Championships held in Durres, Albania, delivering a record-breaking performance in the men’s 79 kg weight category.
According to Report, Almammadov lifted 151 kg in the snatch and 189 kg in the clean and jerk, finishing with a total of 340 kg. His results earned him bronze in the snatch, gold in the clean and jerk, and the overall European title based on the combined total.
Almammadov also set new tournament records in both the clean and jerk and the total.
The medals were presented by Firdovsi Umudov, vice president of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation and member of the International Weightlifting Federation’s Advisory Group, along with Azer Alizade, president of the Goyazan Club and Federation representative at the championship.
