Azerbaijani student Ibrahim Talishinski, living in Poland, reported on social media about an attack that took place in Warsaw.
The incident occurred just a few hundred meters from his home, when a group of 10-15 people with racist motives suddenly attacked him and his friends, using pepper spray.
The victims experienced difficulty breathing and were unable to open their eyes. The attackers fled the scene before the police and ambulance arrived.
“Paramedics informed us that due to the pepper spray attack, they couldn’t take us to the hospital and only provided first aid on-site,” Talishinski wrote.
After the incident, Ibrahim’s friend, a Turkish citizen, quickly contacted the Turkish Embassy and the international hotline for Turkish citizens, receiving a prompt response.
However, attempts by the Azerbaijani student to reach the Azerbaijani embassy in Poland were unsuccessful.
According to the student, the behavior of the Polish police, which was initially rude, changed drastically after his friend called the Turkish embassy.
“The officers received the call and became softer, but it seemed as if they were trying to cover up the situation. Complaints about the actions of local authorities will be sent to the relevant authorities,” he noted.
It is worth mentioning that after the incident, Ibrahim Talishinski visited the hospital, where doctors confirmed that, as a result of the attack, he permanently lost about 7% of his vision.
