Azerbaijani Paralympians concluded the VII European Youth Paralympic Games in Istanbul, Turkey, with 13 medals.
According to the press service of the National Paralympic Committee, our national team, making its debut at the EuroGames with 17 athletes, won 4 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze medals across seven sports.
Sabir Zeynalov (para taekwondo, K44, 58 kg), Amin Aliyev (para taekwondo, K44, 63 kg), Samaya Hasanova (para taekwondo, K44, 47 kg) and Aysha Arabova (para athletics, long jump, T11) won gold; Orkhan Jafarov (para taekwondo, K44, 80 kg) and Ali Valiyev (para swimming, 2009-2013 age group, S10, 100 meters butterfly) won silver; Aykhan Nuruyev (para taekwondo, K44, 58 kg), Amin Shikhaliev (para taekwondo, K44, 63 kg), Imran Bagirov (para taekwondo, K44, 70 kg), Omar Gurbanov (para judo, J2, 62 kg), Huseyn Ismayilzade (para judo, K44, 70 kg) and Ali Valiyev (para swimming, S10, 2009-2013 age group, 100 m freestyle, 400 m freestyle) won bronze.
Approximately 700 athletes from 33 countries participated in the tournament.
