Azerbaijani Karatekas Win Five Medals at IKF World Championship

Azerbaijani karatekas won five medals at the World Championship organized by the International Kyokushin Federation (IKF), held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

According to the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF), Javid Kazimli (ages 16–17, +80 kg) and Seljan Babayeva (+60 kg) claimed gold medals in their respective categories.

Rahman Yusubov (ages 14–15, 75 kg) secured a silver medal, while Vagif Bandaliyev (ages 16–17, 70 kg) and Togrul Orujov (ages 12–13, 60 kg) finished with bronze medals.

Azerbaijan was represented at the championship by a 20-member delegation, including 16 athletes, two referees, one head coach, and one official representative. The athletes competed in both individual and team events.

The national team was led by AKF Secretary General Gabil Sayadov and IKF representative Rza Mustafayev.
